Concept
AudRey is a garment that analyzes Instagram accounts to reveal the wearer’s digital “aura.” AudRey combines augmented reality, and 3D textile printing technology, visualizing a future where the virtual and tangible worlds intersect in high-tech fashion.
This project includes a custom developed augmented reality app, which simultaneously analyzes your own Instagram feeds, and detects the pattern icons on the garment to reveal a virtual pattern. When someone holds a mobile device in front of the garment, they will see a virtual texture emanate from the garment itself. The colors, comments and likes from your Instagram account are used to generate the 3D particles to form your digital “aura”.
The textile is neoprene, and the seams are fastened by custom 3D printed fasteners. The design of the pattern icons on the garment is a reflection of the digital era we are living in. The icons are cut out with reflective vinyl, then heat transferred on.
Material: 3D Printed Fasteners, Heat Transfer Vinyl on Neoprene
Software: Instagram API, Unity, Vuforia API
