About

Jingwen Zhu is a researcher and designer based in Ithaca, New York. Her work bridges e-textiles, sustainable materials, and smart devices. She is passionate about crafting engaging user experiences and melding time-honored crafting techniques with advanced technologies. Her research has been presented at major conferences, including ACM CHI, UIST, and ISWC, with Best Paper Honorable Mention awards and Design Exhibition awards. She was honored as an EECS Rising Star 2024.

Jingwen completed her bachelor’s degree in D&I, Tongji University, and received her master's degree from ITP, New York University. She is currently a Ph.D candidate researching e-textiles and on-skin interfaces in the Hybrid Body Lab at Cornell University. Prior to her PhD studies, she worked as an electrical design engineer at Tomorrow Lab in NYC and an adjunct instructor at ITP.
