Wearable Patch for Menstrual Pain Relief

A project at Tomorrow Lab for Artemis

Role: Interaction Design, PCB Design, Firmware Development

Artemis uses technology to advance the lives of women through choices. The Artemis Patch -- the company’s flagship wearable device -- is a non-invasive, wearable device that naturally helps relieve women’s menstrual pain. This patch provides vibration stimulation to the user’s lower abdomen. The Artemis App enables users to control the intensity of the stimulation that the patch delivers.

Tomorrow Lab led the design & development of the V1 Artemis Patch hardware and firmware.

Technology Design

The patch delivers sufficient vibration stimulation to provide pain relief. We investigated various vibration motor types, vibration and stimulation patterns and tested them with users to survey efficacy.

Tomorrow Lab integrated a powering & charging circuit, and Bluetooth module to integrate seamlessly with the Artemis App. The App is used to control the various vibration settings, set timers, and more.
